Michael Elahi
FOUNDER · HEAD COACH · APEX SPORTS TRAINING
Coach Michael, on the floor.
The short version
I'm Michael — founder of Apex Sports Training. I grew up in Parkland, played sports my whole life, graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and went on to FIU's Honors College. I started Apex because the youth sports coaching landscape in South Florida was wide — and shallow. Lots of programs. Very few that actually coach.
Why Apex exists
Most youth training programs run drills. Apex teaches skills. There's a difference, and any parent who's watched their kid plateau after 6 months of "training" already knows what it is.
Every Apex session is built around three things: age-appropriate progressions, measurable outcomes, and real coaching technique — meaning we correct what an athlete is actually doing wrong, in real time, with patience. We don't run kids through cones for an hour and call it development.
Background & credentials
What I coach personally
I'm the head coach across multiple Apex programs — AAU and Varsity Basketball, Varsity Football, and Travel Soccer. Basketball is where I spend the most time on the floor (shooting mechanics, ball-handling, court IQ), but I also handle most of the founder-level athlete intakes (the free first sessions) regardless of sport, so I can match each athlete to the right Apex coach personally.
How to reach me
The fastest way is the free first-session booking form. The form goes directly to my inbox — I read every one personally and reply within an hour during business hours.
